Because the baby’s intestines and stomach are very fragile, it is possible for the baby to have diarrhea if you are not careful. When the baby has such a phenomenon, as a mother, you must know some nursing measures to alleviate such a disease for the baby in time. So when it comes to alleviating such a disease of the baby, what methods can be used?
I. closely observe the development of the baby’s condition
If the baby’s irritability gets worse, the fontanel and eye socket are sunken, there are few tears when crying, and he looks dry. In addition, when he pinches the skin on the inner thigh with his hand and immediately releases his hand, the skin wrinkles flatten for more than 2 seconds.
This situation shows that the baby’s body has been seriously dehydrated; Or he has been treated at home for 3 days, but his condition has not improved. He often has a large number of watery stools, increased vomiting and thirst, can not eat and water normally, there is still little urine after rehydration, and the baby has fever and blood in his stool. He needs to take the baby to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible.
II. Replenish the water lost by the body as soon as possible
Many mothers rush to the hospital as soon as their baby has diarrhea. In fact, at the beginning of diarrhea, the baby is mostly slightly dehydrated. As long as under the guidance of a doctor, it can be treated at home. This is not only timely and convenient, but also can reduce a lot of unnecessary trouble, which is very beneficial to the baby’s recovery.
Then, the first thing a mother should do is to judge whether the baby is slightly dehydrated. The baby with mild dehydration has thirst, slightly dry lips, less urine than usual, yellow color, irritability and crying.
Mother can choose one of the following rehydration methods: rehydrate with self-made sugar and saline, that is, add 1.75 g of refined salt and 10 g of white sugar in 5000 ml of warm boiled water, 1.75 g of refined salt is equivalent to half of the beer bottle cap, and 10 g of white sugar is equivalent to 2 tablespoons; Replenish with self-made rice soup and salt liquid, that is, add 1.75 g of refined salt to 500 ml of warm boiled water; The ORS (oral rehydration salt) prescribed by the doctor is used for rehydration. The ORS rehydration salt is a prepared dry powder, which can be prepared into a liquid according to the instructions.
Then, in the first 4 hours, give 20 ~ 40 ml of liquid per kilogram of baby’s body weight. After that, take it orally at any time and drink as much as you can. Babies under 2 years old can be fed with a small spoon every 1 ~ 2 minutes, and older babies can drink in small cups. If the baby vomits, wait 10 minutes before feeding slowly; Once the baby has eyelid edema, it indicates that there is some excess rehydration. You should temporarily drink boiled water or breast milk.
Love tip: do not add ors rehydration salt to milk, rice soup, fruit juice or other drinks, and do not add sugar after preparation according to the instructions, otherwise the rehydration effect will be affected.
III. give your baby rich food to prevent malnutrition
The traditional treatment of diarrhea advocates that children should fast for a period of time. However, this hinders the body’s nutritional supplement and is prone to malnutrition. It is now advocated that babies with diarrhea should not be fasted, but they should follow the principle of small amount and multiple meals and eat at least 6 times a day.
Breast fed babies continue to eat breast milk, but the fat content of the mother’s diet should be lower, otherwise it will aggravate diarrhea; Babies fed artificially within 6 months can drink milk according to their usual amount; Babies who have added milk free food for more than 6 months can eat some digestible food, such as porridge, rotten noodles, minced fish, a small amount of vegetable mud, fresh fruit juice or banana mud, until 2 weeks after the cessation of diarrhea.
IV. take extra care of the baby’s little ass
Because the baby’s defecation times have increased a lot, it will continue to pollute the little ass. Moreover, the feces discharged during diarrhea are more irritating to the skin. Therefore, after the baby defecates every time, the mother should wash the little ass with warm water, especially pay attention to the cleaning of anus and perineum. It is best to use soft and clean cotton diapers and change them frequently to avoid red hip and urinary tract infection. If your little ass turns red, expose it to the air and dry it naturally, and then apply some diaper rash cream.
