Last weekend, I wanted to ask some friends to take the children to swim. Unexpectedly, two of the five children caught a cold, and one of the children was bitten by a mosquito on one leg of the bag, picking up the bleeding, swimming worried about infecting the wound.
So the original beautiful plan was put on hold. But it’s not about not being able to travel, it’s about being distressed that the children are getting sick.
Now it is in the period of dog days. If you are not careful, your child may suffer from physical discomfort. So what the hell is dog days?
Hot days are the name of solar terms. They occur between summer and autumn. They are the days with the highest temperature in a year and are humid and muggy. Every year, the time of incubation is not fixed, and the length of incubation is not the same. It needs to be calculated by checking the calendar. This year’s dog days appear: July 17, 2016 – July 26, 2016.
If you want your child to have a pleasant summer vacation, you should pay more attention to his health and prevent his infection with the following high-risk diseases:
Heat stroke
Generally speaking, the causes of children’s heatstroke can be divided into external and internal causes.
External causes are: higher temperature and higher radiation, resulting in higher body temperature and slower heat dissipation, thereby causing disorders in body temperature regulation.
The internal causes are exposure time, physical strength and nutritional status in high temperature environment.
Once the child has a lot of sweating, dizziness, increased body temperature, and vomiting, this is the precursor of heatstroke. If the child has high fever, cramps, coma, anuria and so on, then don’t handle it by yourself, take the child to the hospital as soon as possible!
How to prevent:
The most important thing to avoid children’s heatstroke is to avoid going out in hot and dry weather and keep the indoor temperature suitable. You’d better wear loose and breathable clothes when you go out. In addition, we must take heat-proof tools, such as umbrellas, sunglasses, etc., do not let children in the sun for a long time, remind children to rest in a cool place, usually shade is the best choice. In addition, whether you go out or at home, you should pay attention to drinking more water.
2. Colds
Adults and children are susceptible to colds in summer. The most common reason is that the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor is too big to adapt to the sudden change of temperature. Another reason is that during the holidays, the public places are crowded, and the probability of spreading infectious bacteria is high.
How to prevent:
To prevent colds, first of all, the air-conditioning temperature at home should not be too low, 27-28 degrees Celsius is the best. Another key point is to avoid heat and cold. The child’s body temperature regulation center and sweat glands are immature, and the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor needs a gradual adaptation process. You can turn off the air conditioner early before the child wakes up or goes out, so that the child can better adapt to temperature changes. In addition, you can add a thin coat to your child at a lower temperature, but don’t change it frequently. This is the opposite.
Diarrhea
As the temperature rises in summer, the digestive enzymes in the intestine and stomach of the human body decrease and the motility of the stomach and intestine decreases. In addition, if children eat irregular diet, eat too much cold drinks, and sleep with air conditioning, do not pay attention to abdominal warmth, it is easy to make the abdomen cold, leading to food retention in the stomach, causing abdominal distention, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and so on.
How to prevent:
Prevent diarrhea and let children eat less cold and spoiled food. To light-based, avoid excessive greasy, high-protein food. At the same time, we should pay attention to food hygiene and let children wash their hands frequently. In addition, to avoid children’s abdominal cold, night air conditioning must pay attention to cover the quilt, especially the abdomen.
Mosquito bites
You may think mosquito bites are not a disease, but like my friend’s children, the whole leg has been bitten swollen and cut to bleeding, so you may be distressed! Summer is the most active season for mosquitoes, catch one bite. And the child’s skin is tender, once bitten by mosquitoes, will immediately pack up. Children generally can’t resist itching and scratch hard. This situation is very easy to cause infection and scar, and even cause serious allergic reactions.
How to prevent:
No matter how good a mosquito repellent product someone recommends, I always feel that mosquito nets are the best, no chemical ingredients, and the anti-mosquito effect is unparalleled by any medicine. Children’s rooms should use as little insecticides as possible (completely forbidden in my home); in addition, pay attention to the hygiene and cleanliness of the house, the card seams in the house must be cleaned in time to eliminate mosquito hiding and breeding places; at the same time, repair the screen windows as early as possible, and do a good job of mosquito prevention.
5. Heat rash
Pimples are also the most annoying but difficult thing to get rid of in summer. Because of the strong metabolism of children, it is easy to sweat. If children do not sweat in time, it is easy to cause inflammation and form prickles.
How to prevent:
Cooling, drying and cleaning are the keys to prevent children from developing prickly heat. Don’t let children wear too much, keep indoor ventilation well, lower room temperature, wear sweat-absorbing cotton clothes for children, keep skin dry, and wipe sweat for children in time, which can avoid or reduce the occurrence of prickles.
