Many parents don’t attach much importance to allergy. They feel that their children don’t have obvious allergic symptoms. In fact, they don’t. Many diseases are closely related to allergies. Although we can’t completely cure allergies, proper prevention can improve children’s quality of life. In fact, it is also improving parents’ quality of life. Because the child is ill, the main pressure is borne by the parents. Reduce allergens, starting from daily life. The following I will briefly focus on specific allergens, say how to prevent.
1. Prevention of pollen allergy
The powder of flowers and plants is the main allergen, with obvious seasonality. Spring and autumn are the seasons with the most pollen. In spring and autumn, don’t go to botanical gardens or parks where flowers and plants are concentrated; or when you go, remember to wear masks. After going home, wash the pollen off your hair and clothes. Especially when it’s windy, try to reduce or even avoid outdoor activities.
Don’t plant flowers and grass at home. In pollen season, open windows for ventilation as little as possible. Using humidifier indoors can also effectively reduce indoor pollen concentration.
Since pollen allergens enter the body through nasal mucosa, wearing face mask is the most effective way to prevent allergy. After going out, clean the nasal cavity with clear water, which can also reduce the time of pollen staying in the nasal cavity and reduce the occurrence of allergy.
Washing your face with warm water can also reduce the amount of pollen entering your body directly through your skin, but it’s best not to wash your face with hot water. If you have to go to the park or botanical garden occasionally, you can take anti allergic drugs one day in advance. If you come back without symptoms, you don’t need to take them continuously; if you have symptoms, you need to take them continuously for three days. In the spring pollen period, autumn pollen period and winter hot and cold change easily lead to allergic period, you need to take anti allergic drugs in advance.
2. Prevention of dust mite allergy
Dust mites mainly live in the home environment, so the home environment is very important. Bed sheets and other bedding should be made of mite resistant materials and cleaned with hot water above 55 ℃ once a week as far as possible. Although the sheets to the sun also have some effect, but far less effective than washing with hot water.
Try not to use carpets and tapestries. It’s better to use wooden floors at home. You can also use some dust mite insecticides. Children’s fluffy toys and curtains may also become a hiding place for dust mites. Try not to use cloth sofas, but use leather sofas or wood sofas instead. Do not use curtain cloth, but easy to absorb indoor dust, dust mites, micro bacteria and other allergens. The growth of dust mite needs humidity. Strengthening indoor ventilation and reducing indoor humidity can also effectively control the growth of dust mite.
