At present, many parents and educators only pay attention to let children learn knowledge, get high scores in exams, and get into a good university. Some parents of children in our class force children over 2 years old to read, remember English words or do math problems. Some parents think that early education is to let children read and do calculation problems, which is a misunderstanding of early childhood education.

If we ignore the development of children’s EQ and intelligence, then they just learn some knowledge earlier than others. Although these knowledge is also useful, it is far worse than improving EQ and developing intelligence. Even some cramming will affect the improvement of children’s interest in learning and EQ. Some people say, “knowledge is valuable, intelligence is priceless, and improving EQ is the key to success in life.”

Create a good environment for children

The foundation of character is laid by early life. The early living environment has a subtle influence on children’s character. Good character is formed by edification and infection in the appropriate environment, and is the result of infiltration and accumulation of good emotional experience. Therefore, it is particularly important for us to create an environment full of democracy, equality, harmony and joy for children.

Today’s children are only children, to improve their EQ skills, the best place to learn is kindergarten. Because only the collective living environment and game activities can make children develop a happy character and optimistic humor, and let children grasp their own emotional and social skills. If you leave a collective like kindergarten, children’s EQ can hardly be cultivated. As put forward in the guidelines for kindergarten education, “let children feel warm and happy in the collective environment, and form a sense of security and trust.”
