Domestic female friends are suffering from puerperium. If they follow the old puerperium method, they feel uncomfortable. If they do not follow it or ask their elders for scientific puerperium method, they will not necessarily listen to it, but will be nagged. It’s been a very difficult month.

We’ve had such a miserable life, what about our foreign female friends? Why do they seem to have no puerperium at all? And there are not so many taboos. Life is the same after the birth of a child. It’s time to take a bath and go out instead of staying at home and closing doors and windows.

From the point of view of physical recovery, foreign women’s health is not worse than ours, and there is no difference when they grow old. After giving birth to a child, it will not be because of the cold water in the month or go out to see the wind and fall what “Moon disease“. So even those foreign women who drink cold water at work after childbirth and do not have puerperium recover very well without leaving any pain. What is the need for the traditional puerperium?

Why is there no such saying in foreign countries as “puerperium”?

I haven’t heard that foreigners have the habit of “puerperium”. After watching a Foreign Actress give birth to a baby, she immediately appears in front of everyone. Why don’t they have “puerperium”?

Part of the reason is that people’s living habits are different, and their physiques are different. They are accustomed to drinking cold water, even eating raw and cold food, and can eat two or three cooked steaks. But most people in China feel uncomfortable when they eat it. So foreign women can do without puerperium.

But don’t assume that foreign women don’t pay attention to postpartum recovery. They will also rest more, pay attention to health care, although they will not drink tonic soup or even milk soup every day, but still pay attention to nutritional supply. Foreign women who do not have mothers do not recover worse than puerperal women, but this does not mean that we can learn that foreigners do not have puerperium.

What are the undesirable customs of our “puerperium”?

Foreigners’behavior during puerperium does not advocate copying learning. Domestic puerperium is not a “superstition”, nor is it all a bad habit. It must have its existence reason that has been handed down for many years. But with the change of living conditions, many puerperal customs should be abandoned.

1) Focus on nutritional balance

Traditional puerperal customs vary from place to place, and there are many differences in dietary culture. But one thing in common is that the monthly diet is too monotonous (I remember being asked to cook chicken with old wine every day during puerperium). This is not conducive to balanced absorption of nutrients, it is also not conducive to physical recovery. So nutrition balance is very important in the month, vegetables and fruits, fish and eggs are indispensable. This is also conducive to the baby from breast milk intake of balanced nutrition.

2) Maintain good hygienic habits

Traditional months are limited by living conditions and equipment, so postpartum mothers are not allowed to wash their hair and bathe for fear of getting cold. But now, in the case of hairdryers at home, as long as it is guaranteed not to be cold, the puerperium can also wash your hair. In particular, postpartum mothers are also particularly fond of sweating, proper cleaning of the body will be more comfortable, easier to recover, too dirty will affect the recovery of the body.

3) Get down and exercise properly as soon as possible

Puerperal rest does not mean lying in bed all day. Lying all day is not conducive to the discharge of lochia, but also can lead to intestinal peristalsis, prone to postpartum constipation, affecting the recovery of the reproductive system. Simply put, it is not conducive to postpartum recovery.

After delivery, the doctor will tell the parturient whether it is spontaneous delivery or caesarean section that she can get out of bed as soon as possible and do some slight activities, which is conducive to the recovery of pelvic floor muscle and abdominal muscle tension. But don’t engage in manual labor too early to avoid unhealthy phenomena such as uterine prolapse.

Therefore, female friends should not be too “superstitious” about foreign postpartum puerperium, nor too “superstitious” about domestic traditional puerperium. The best choice is to adapt to local conditions and scientific puerperium according to different people.
