Even if breast-feeding mothers have a weight-loss plan, they should also ensure the normal intake of calories. For the first six months, you need to eat an extra 640 calories a day. Mothers are advised to get energy from nutritious foods such as low-fat dairy products, lean meat, whole grains, fruits and vegetables.
