After pregnancy, with the baby growing up, expectant mothers worry about it day by day. They began to consult books and ask friends who had had childbearing experience for advice. However, most people do not get the ideal answer, which may even be counterproductive. Some women who have given birth said, “When giving birth, it hurts like death.” Others said, “Caesarean section is better. Use some anesthetics, and the birth will take a while. But I heard that cesarean section is not good for the child’s future development.” It can be seen that these experiences are one-sided, based on individual feelings and understanding, and lack of science.
Nowadays, people advocate returning to nature, so does childbirth. Natural childbirth can further stimulate the development of their brain and lungs through the squeezing effect of the birth canal during childbirth, which is more healthy and intelligent than children born by caesarean section. But there are always two sides. This kind of natural delivery needs more than ten hours of pain. Although it won’t hurt as much as some mothers said, it also needs mothers to endure. Therefore, they are eager to know how to make themselves less painful and pass the childbirth smoothly.
So what factors can affect women’s natural childbirth?
1、 The force that forces the fetus out
When the expectant mother’s due date is up, it indicates that our fetus has matured and needs to come to the world, otherwise the placental supply and nutrition system will slowly deteriorate until it stops. However, babies don’t know the seriousness of the problem. They only know that they can eat well and sleep well in their mother’s womb, and they don’t want to come to the world after a hard journey. Therefore, expectant mothers need a force to force the fetus out, which is called “labor force” in medicine. The force that forces the fetus out has its own characteristics: the labor force has the characteristics of straightness, symmetry, polarity and retraction. These characteristics can not only ensure that the baby will be forced out without causing damage to the baby, but also allow the lower segment of the uterus, uterine orifice and vagina to expand slowly and passively, so that the baby can be delivered safely.
Generally speaking, the labor force has already appeared in the late pregnancy, and the frequency is more near the expected date of birth. It is manifested in pregnant women, that is, the uterus suddenly becomes hard like a ball, and soon disappears without regularity. The real sign of labor is that there are two contractions within 10 minutes, which are regular, accompanied by the expansion of the cervix and the descent of the fetal head. It takes about 12 to 14 hours from the moment when the uterine orifice is completely expanded (10 cm) to the time when the baby is delivered. For the parturient, what she felt was only a series of regular abdominal pains (i.e., uterine contractions), which were getting worse and worse. At this time, some expectant mothers can’t hold on or have insufficient confidence, so they shout to the doctor: “Give me birth promoting or pain relieving injections quickly”. Here we want to tell the expectant mother that only after full time of uterine contraction can the uterine orifice be forced to expand and open completely, which is conducive to the descent of the fetus. This process is too fast, too slow, too strong, too weak, will cause serious damage to the mother and baby. Doctors all know this truth and will not interfere without special circumstances. Prospective mothers should also know this truth. For primipara, short-term pain is difficult to complete the above process.
