For older mothers, it’s obviously much harder to conceive in October and give birth to their babies than for younger mothers. Moreover, as an old pregnant mother, there are many considerations and rumors. Especially on the internet, rumors abound about older pregnant mothers. Actually, I don’t think older pregnant mothers should worry too much. As long as you believe in science, these rumors will spread, and you will have enough reason to relax!
1. Older pregnant mothers tend to have daughters
Li Zi, an elderly parturient, has twin daughters. This year, 41-year-old Li Zi gave birth to another 7-kilogram baby girl in Hong Kong. Her mother and daughter are safe. With the increase of age, the secretory function of ovaries decreases, the internal environment is affected, and the vaginal secretion characteristics change. All of these may cause the imbalance of X and Y sperm ratio, thus resulting in the relative increase of the probability of giving birth to female babies.
American studies have shown that couples who are not anxious to have children are more likely to have girls at last, and this phenomenon is more pronounced among colored people than among white people. For the proportion of white boys and girls, the influence of father’s age is twice that of mother’s age.
The age of non-white couples has roughly the same effect on the sex of newborns. On the other hand, the relationship between the age of couples of childbearing age and the sex of newborns is still unclear. The association between low birth weight and infant sex may be related to the higher survival rate of female fetuses. Ultimately, however, fertilization determines the sex of new life. Fertilization is the combination of two germ cells, that is, sperm and egg. There must be a mistake in saying that an older pregnant mother decides that her baby must be a girl.
